River Cruisin' With Robere
Greetings from Schoonhaven, a beautiful little village about 65 kilometers south of Amsterdam. It’s Day 5 (6?) of a weeklong Uniworld river cruise I’m on with my brother, Jason (aka Robere, my longtime nickname for him). I’ll keep it short because I want to savor this last day and a half away from my laptop, but wow, what an extraordinary experience. I was lucky enough to be able to bring a +1 guest, J was lucky enough to be able to come, and some two countries, nine cities/villages, 12ish river locks, and 4,288,987 calories later, here we are on the tailend of the first voyage that S.S. Victoria, a beautiful new ship for Uniworld, has made with guests. I’ve seen more of the Netherlands in less than a week than I have in an entire 18 months of living here.
I’m still digesting everything, and as ever, I’m beyond grateful for my kick-ass husband for encouraging me to go on this trip in the first place. Stories forthcoming, but for now, a few photos.
